Congratulations to Dr. Fredrick Ayuke!

Dr. Fredrick O. Ayuke, A senior Lecturer at the Department of Land Resource Management & Agricultural Technology (LARMAT), University of Nairobi has been selected to be a Lead Author for Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). This follows his nomination to the Global Soil Biodiversity Scientific Advisory Committee.

Dr. Ayuke will lead deliverable 2b-Regional assessment of biodiversity and ecosystem services for Africa (2015-2017). The scope of the regional and sub-regional assessment is to assess the status and trends of biodiversity and ecosystem services, the impact of their changes on good quality life and the effectiveness of responses, including the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and its Aichi Biodiversity target. The assessments will address terrestrial, freshwater, coastal and marine biodiversity, ecosystem functions and ecosystem services. Dr. Ayuke is presently (2014-2015) a postdoctoral guest researcher at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Uppsala.
