Diana Wall was presented with the Soil Science Society of America's (SSSA) highest honor, the Presidential Award. The organization presented Wall with the award at their annual meeting in Tampa on Monday. The award is given to recipients "for outstanding contributions to soil science through education, national and international service, and research."
This isn't the first time that the GSBI's scientific chair has received a prestigious award this year. Earlier in the year, Wall received the 2013 Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement for "her outstanding contributions to the study of soil ecology and the ecosystem services that soils provide, and for her extensive efforts to convey the importance of soils for current environmental, economic and conservation concerns."
Wall has dedicated her career to the exploration of soil science and has accomplished much in her endeavors, and we congratulate her on receiving this award.
